Feel your body

The central thought for this article is self-love. Awake to the knowing that a successful body gives you energy and lightness.

Be aware and know that your body is there for your wellbeing. Treat your body accordingly. See your body as your friend, your best friend.

  • Observe how you talk to your body. Would you talk like this, if it was your best friend’s body?
  • Observe how you look at your body. Would you look at it like this, if it was your best friend’s body?
  • Observe how you feel in your body. Would you like it, if your best friend felt like this in her* body?
*Solely for the ease of writing, I will refer to she/her without any discrimination.

I know not only from myself, but also from family and friends and even acquaintances how hard we are on ourselves when it comes to our body, be it height, weight or size. However, when our best friend complains about being too small, too tall, too thin or too big, we immediately tell that person how beautiful she is just the way she is.

Sounds familiar? Doesn’t that feel strange to you? Don’t you feel disconnected when reading this?

Now, I want you to feel amazing in your body. I want you to look in the mirror thinking ‘Wow’. I want you to look down on yourself thinking ‘Wow’. I want you to walk through life feeling connected with yourself, because you think ‘Wow’, because you love yourself. Self-love is not only key, it is the base to your wellbeing.

In order to feel your body, it is essential to tune into it. Feel, observe, and perceive any tensions that you might hold. Consciously or not. Be aware, be present, be curious. And especially, be kind to yourself. Do not fight your body, befriend it.

Change the metaphor

Inspired by the magic yoga retreat in Italy with Elena Brower and Ally Bogard. Thank you for all that you are and bring into this world.

Are you feeling stuck? Do you feel out of balance? Does life appear extreme to you at times? Does that exhaust you?

Then it’s time to change the metaphor!

Our life and how we live it, is based on our culture, education and interpretations which over time develops a certain belief system, a thinking pattern, eventually our reality of life.

This reality of life, however, is not generally valid. Your reality is not mine, just like my reality is not the same as anyone else’s. We all perceive life through a certain lens, subject to the stage of life we are in or moving through at the moment. The good news is the lens is changing and adaptable, and you can change and are adaptable. So, at all times in your life, you have the power to look through a different lens. You hold the power to experience life differently, i.e. not stuck, but in flow. Not out of balance, but balanced. Not in extremes, but on the middle lane. Not exhausting, but empowering.

Isn’t it incredibly powerful to know that you hold this power within you?

Do you want this power back?

Then follow this 3-step-programme.

5 4 3 2 1, GO!

Step 1: CLEAR OUT

The first step of clearing it all out is so critical. Imagine a full glass of water. When it is full, no more water can be added. It runs over. It is the same with our body, mind and soul. When it is too much, it’s simply too much and we cannot absorb nor process anything else. This is because we hold on to things, that we don’t need anymore. Our energy that should ideally be running through our body and mind freely, stagnates. We’ve stored (disruptive) energy that we don’t need any more in the body, we’ve stored thoughts that we don’t think any more in our mind, and we’ve stored things that we don’t feel any more in our heart. This is all taking up space in your water glass. So, clear out the energy that you don’t want or need anymore, clear out the tensions in your body. Let it go. Make some space in your water glass.

Examples: Negative energies from others. I am not loveable. Tense money mindset.

WRITE IT DOWN.

Step 2: NOURISH

The second step is equally important. When it comes to personal growth, you might want to think about your growth and how you can become the best version of yourself. So, after clearing it all out, my question to you is:

What are you nourishing?

What is it that you want for yourself in life? How do you want your life to look like? How do you want to feel? What do you want to invite into your life? Which energy do you want to feel?

Examples: I deserve success. I am loveable no matter what I achieve. I always do my best in every given situation.

WRITE IT DOWN.

Step 3: HARMONISE

After defining the things for your clear out and your nourishment, it’s time to harmonize. This third step is all about inviting it in. Invite the new energy that you want to be on. Invite the feelings that you want to feel. Invite the new frequency that you want to feel. Harmonize your new energy and frequency in your body, in your mind and in your heart. Introduce the new pattern into your life, no matter what. Vibe your own freedom by inviting it all in. You deserve this. You deserve to be happy.

Examples: I’m loveable no matter what. I am successful with my business. I let difficult situations run through me.

WRITE IT DOWN.

Remember:

If you are stuck, change the metaphor. Change the question you ask and you’ll see a new answer. Change perspective. Look through a different lens. If you don’t know what is right (yet), switch into ‘Let’s see’ mode and gift yourself time. Go through life from moment to moment and adapt the lens whenever necessary.

You’ll notice just how colorful life is. Enjoy the ride!

Yours, Nina

Sensuality

Writing about sensuality already crossed my mind several times and it popped up again whilst I attended the Summer Sensual Days in Rovinj, Croatia. So, back in Munich, I decided to dedicate this blog post to sensuality.

I asked myself when I feel most sensual? And I noticed that it is predominantly whilst I’m moving my body, be it yoga, dancing and sometimes even walking. It’s a feeling of consciously perceiving and feeling my body, it is about mindfulness. I feel sensual, when I’m aware of my body movements and my body language, when I notice my feelings and body sensations. When I feel complete and whole in and with my body.

I usually feel good about myself and my body, but surely we all have our days, when we criticise or judge ourselves, when we feel less comfortable in our skin and when we push ourselves to do better. I guess this is normal, but wouldn’t it be nice to drop the judgment? Wouldn’t it be nice to feel great in our bodies at all times? Wouldn’t you love to feel sensual every single day?

I know that I would love to. And I noticed, when dancing Bachata in Rovinj (and some Kizomba and Salsa), that I felt exactly that. I felt my body. And I felt great in it. I felt sensual – great for Bachata sensual! I felt sexy and actually excited about what my body is capable of. I moved my body into many directions, to different songs, with different dance partners, slower, faster, softer, harder and each and every time whilst and after dancing I simply thought “Wow.”

I felt sexy and excited about what my body is capable of.

Our bodies are fascinating. You can express your feelings through your body, you can move your body, dance, walk, jump, run, everything. And because your body is so awesome, you need to take good care of it. Eat good food. Exercise regularly. And obviously I think we all should practise yoga, meditate and dance!

Dancing is such a wonderful way to move your body, it is a great way to connect with your body, you can experiment how to move, where to move, how intense, and you can notice your body sensations and related feelings when moving.

Dancing in Rovinj made me even more aware of how lucky I am to have such a healthy and beautiful (to me) body and I’m beyond grateful. And you know what?

When you feel great in your body, your charisma, your vibrancy and your energy completely transforms to the positive and it will radiate into the world.

What does sensuality mean for you and when do you feel most sensual? Please share in the comments.

Yours, Nina

Momentum

When you are about to embark on a new journey, significant effort is required to get going. You need a high level of energy to get started, but once you are going, you need way less effort and energy to keep up the level of speed. However, to get to a point of ease, you need to build momentum first.

Once you’ve built momentum for your new business or project, you can gracefully continue your journey and quickly get traction toward success.

Just imagine a swing. You start moving your legs back and forth to get some movement. And then after a while, you are enjoying the swing with your legs hardly moving, you are just swinging.

Side note:

I love swings.

Are you ready to build momentum? Are you really ready to live your dream life? Are you prepared to rapidly expand into yourself? Are you ready for increased activity and change in your life?

I ask you these questions, as I know from my own experience, how much we often want to succeed at businesses, projects or whatever it may be, but we simply cannot succeed if we are not ready. And very often we aren’t ready yet. Hence, we cannot build momentum. We, our mind, our heart, our spirit, is not ready yet for full success.

In order to be truly successful, we must widen our awareness for success. We have to understand that success and momentum can arise from many different directions. It’s multi-dimensional. Success depends on expansion, growth and deeper insights as well as trusting the process. It’s not a straight line, it’s  a dynamic process that evolves over time.

Success is a dynamic process.

Oh my! Trust me, this really works. When you open your spirit, mind and heart to all ways of success, all the universe conspires to make your intention a reality.

Remove any stagnations and blocks that are still holding you back. Soften your heart to trust the process. Stand in your power. Create momentum in your life. And then enjoy the journey!

Yours, Nina

More being, less doing

If you are following me on Instagram, then you’ll know that I’ve just returned from a trip through Cambodia and that I spent 2 weeks in a yoga & meditation retreat in Kep, in Vagabond Temple. I will write a separate article about my travels through Cambodia and the yoga retreat, but for now I will focus on one of my biggest learnings in the last few years. Something that was confirmed again during the yoga retreat. Something that will accompany me for life.

More being, less doing.

If I had to rate where I used to be on a being-doing scale, then I’d say 9 doing and 1 being, meaning I was constantly in action, in movement, restless. I felt like I constantly had to be productive, that I had to do something, that I couldn’t just sit there doing nothing.

I questioned myself during the retreat, why that is and thought, probably because it made me feel lazy and being lazy is not accepted in our society. Wherever we go and look, there is doing, action, activity, rush, hurry, pressure, so I’m not too surprised anymore that I wasn’t able to just be, but that instead I was constantly in doing mode, in fear of being unproductive, unsuccessful and lazy. Maybe this is a fear of not being good enough, too? A fear of not being seen? Of not being acknowledged? Of not receiving validation?

If you relate with my words, maybe ask yourself as well, why you do so much and why you are so little.

Now, being on my path of personal development, I have adapted the scale of being and doing. More being, less doing. It’s important to say at this point that doing is not a bad thing, we need to do in order to progress, but it is equally important for us to be, to process, digest and grow. The critical point is, as often in life, to be conscious about our being and doing and to find balance between the two.

Imagine that your head represents doing and your heart is being. When you do, allow your heart and your soul to follow. When you are, invest the energy you gain into doing.

Find silence when needed. Step into action when required. Then rest. Allow yourself to simply be. Listen to your body, it talks to you.

If you acknowledge being and doing of the same value, then you will feel more balanced, at ease and more relaxed, which ultimately leads you closer and closer to your true self.

Yours, Nina

Loving what is

Inspired by the fabulously smart Byron Katie.

Don’t we all know that we are better off when we accept those things in our lives that we cannot change anyways?

Don’t we know that we shouldn’t put any energy into things that we don’t believe in?

Don’t we know that by judging other people we actually judge ourselves?

I guess the answer is ‘YES’ on each of these questions. Yet, we find ourselves in exactly those situations over and over again.

We get angry when a situation or a person winds us up, although IT IS.

We feel exhausted, sad or misunderstood when – often for the sake of others – we invest our time, money and efforts into things that we don’t actually believe in, leaving us frustrated, because we didn’t say no, leaving us feeling guilty when we did, leaving us unsatisfied, because we didn’t invest our time into the things that really matter to us. And yet, IT IS.

We feel hurt, when we are being judged by people. And still, IT IS.

I’ve been wondering: If it is all so clear, then why is it so damn hard to love what is? Why do we spend so much time thinking, moving everything from right to left in our head, analysing, hoping, wishing for a change (in others)?

My answer:

Because it is a process.

And according to Byron Katie: Because you have to do the work first.

Any negative or restricting emotion, be it disappointment, fear, anger or sadness, derives from somewhere within us. Not from somewhere outside of us. This is the 1st step for improvement and for getting closer to loving what it is. Because IT IS.

We won’t stop projecting certain feelings into other people or situations, unless we are aware that this is what we do. We are responsible for our life and hence our emotions, feelings and actions. It’s not the responsibility of anyone else. This is in my opinion the 2nd step towards loving what is. Because IT IS.

We will repeat what we don’t repair. So, we should really look into everything that IS. To start repairing what lies within us, to then dissolve what lies within others. Ask yourself in the entire process:

Is this the truth?

Then you will be ready to start your healing process. And this healing process will lead you to

Loving what is.

Yours, Nina

The fear of losing oneself

I realized that there is one topic that keeps popping up in my head which relates to the combination between personal development and distraction, especially relationships with men (well in my case). This article is – as always – written from my perspective; hence I’m relating to guys only. However, this article can be applied to men and women alike, I’m sure.

When you are so deep in your personal development journey as I am at the moment and as I have been for the past 6 months, when you realize just how wonderful this journey is, when you really enjoy it to the fullest (even if damn hard at times), when knots are bursting, when your life is shifting, when you feel like your whole world is rocking (mainly to the positive), then you obviously want to keep this momentum going and growing. Right?

What do you think it is we need to keep the momentum going and growing? Yes, we need discipline and consistency, but most importantly we need the will and hunger to keep going. In January 2018, I experienced this will and hunger stronger than ever before, I write weekly action plans to stay focused and disciplined, I have a daily yoga, meditation and gratitude practice, I listen to podcasts and I watch relevant videos on YouTube. I realized that my will is growing stronger, as my Why is growing stronger with every step I take on this beautiful journey.

What I’m trying to get at is that this journey and the beautiful outcomes fulfill me so much, that I sometimes fear being thrown off this journey. By distractions, whatever they may be. However, majorly I noticed a fear of distraction by men. I am a happy single at the moment, yet I do wish for a beautifully fulfilling relationship amongst equals. At the same time, isn’t that exactly the challenge? To find the other half that wants to support you at all times, that wants to see you grow, who is himself grounded, positive, and is aspiring a healthy, free and abundant lifestyle? A person who you can be 100% authentic with, a person who is motivating you, a person who you can look up to, yet at the same time feels inspired by your energy and positivity and not threatened. Are you still with me? Can you resonate with my feelings? My impression is that guys are indeed scared sometimes, of themselves, of a woman that knows what she wants, of really living the life they want to live. I want to emphasize though that this is my impression only and that I don’t want to generalize this statement, there are always exceptions to the rule.

Then there is me, self-confident, convinced that I’ve chosen the right way, simply because I feel it, my flow and happiness, with the universe making things happen for me. Yet, there are moments, where it’s like I’m ‘forgetting’ my values, my boundaries, my wishes for the next relationship, my big vision for my life. But why? Does it depend on my mood, on the day, on the weather, on the guy? I don’t know really, but in case you bond with what I’m talking about, then let me tell you one thing. Don’t be too hard on yourself. Accept that you may have weak moments just like I had in the last few months, accept that you may have a ‘down’ phase, but know that the next day will be the start of an ‘up’ phase again.

The other thing I would like to share with you is that I strongly believe that the right partner, my soul mate will come into my life, when it is right, when I am ready, when he is ready. We attract what we express, so just be in your flow, in your higher self, and your other half will step into your life.

As for me, I’m sure I will be able to stand my grounds, stick to my values and life vision and set my boundaries, meaning that I don’t need to fear distraction by a relationship. Because in the right relationship, you don’t need to fear such things. So, don’t be afraid of your spiritual growth, keep shining your light, keep going and live the life you really want to live!

And maybe we sometimes need to lose ourselves in love to find real love? Just a thought.

Yours, Nina

Bursting knots

I already sensed last year that I’m on a good way to reveal my true self. To get really close to myself, to the person I really want to be, living the life I really want to live.

Now, this of course didn’t come overnight or by coincidence. No. I’ve dedicated a lot of my time to my personal growth. I’ve started working with a spiritually inspired life coach a year ago, I invested more time in Instagram to connect with like-minded people, to learn from them and to pass on my experiences, too. I started this blog. I went to a workshop from one of the top motivation trainers in Germany, Christian Bischoff. I listened to various podcasts about personal development. I read various books. I practiced yoga to strengthen my body and to quieten my mind. I started meditating on a regular basis. I started journalling in my pink notebook more actively again. I implemented a daily gratitude practice. I went to networking events. I arranged meetings with interesting and fascinating people outside of these networking events.

In summary, my personal growth, self-love and creating my vision has been key to me and still is.

Just because I’m writing the above in past tense, does not mean that any of these activities are completed though. No, the contrary is true and I tell you why.

On my way to where I’m now – a much happier, lighter, more positive, more saying yes to life Nina – I’ve been facing quite a few obstacles. Emotional breakdowns, tears, fights (with myself and others), ‘lost’ relationships, frustration, procrastination, sadness, fears, to only name a few. It is not the easiest of all ways to really dig deeper into personal development and spiritual growth. It’s not easy to reflect yourself so intensively, to question existing relationships, to question existing behaviours, to ask yourself what it is you really want, what it is you really need and especially what it is you really want from life and I mean from the bottom of your heart.

What do you really want from life from the bottom of your heart?

The process described above requires you to look at your life first, to be ready to change, to tidy up, to break habits in order to set yourself free, for the life that you want!

I can’t mark the day when my development exactly started, but for me, it’s probably the day when I had my breakthrough in Mexico. And this breakthrough was a feeling. That I want to change something in my life. That I want way more from life than what I had up until then. That I have so much more potential to live the life of my dreams. It was simply a feeling that my story is only just starting. If you are at a similar point in your life, and you are wondering about the feelings you are feeling, I can only tell you to feel them, to let them be there, not to judge them and to just go with the flow.

Flow for me means to follow my heart, to increasingly switch off my head, my mind, my thoughts, which usually want to keep us in our comfort zone, away from risks, away from any potential trouble. Our heart on the contrary leads us the way outside of our comfort zone. But this means risks, unknown circumstances, something new.

Stepping outside of our comfort zone, however, is where the growth is.

You need to be brave enough to step out of your comfort zone and you will only do that, when the pain around the current situation is too big to just hang in there. From my experience, especially in the last 2 years, I can only recommend you to keep going, to believe in what you stand for and to just run with it.

It will be all worth it, trust me! Here’s why I’m so convinced about this. Because now, all the seeds that I have been sowing in the last years, are starting to come into fruition. All the time and effort I’ve invested into my personal development and my projects, are now starting to pay off. Knots are bursting. This year 2018 is my year. I just know it and I already felt it coming on 31st December 2017, when I felt so content and happy that I wanted to hug the entire world.

Knots are bursting.

When my knots started bursting from the inside out, like limiting beliefs, restrictions I’ve imposed on myself and a lack of self-confidence in certain areas of my life, eventually things started happening for me. Things shifted. Opportunities arose out of ‘nowhere’, but these opportunities did not come from nowhere. They came from me, my efforts, and my sowing. They were the universe’s way to say Thank You for my consistent sowing.

Keep sowing consistently.

Of course, I had fall outs too, where I lacked motivation, where I was tired, where I couldn’t get out of bed, where I forgot why I’m actually doing this, when I thought why on earth am I on this way, why is this so hard, why do I do this. And yet again: I would always do it again.

Why? To set free. To live my dream life on the highest energy level imaginable, spreading love and positivity into this world.

Here’s to love.

Yours, Nina
