How do you show up?

Today in a call, we talked about the question:

How do I choose to show up?

This question is even more relevant in difficult times, in times of low energy, lack of motivation or when we feel tired and exhausted.
.
The question is how we show up in these situations.

Do we find excuses? Do we hide? Do we get lazy? Is perfectionism getting into our way?

OR do we pull ourselves out of that situation and choose to live in expansion and growth?
.
We all have tough times, I do, you do, we do.

BUT WE CAN ALWAYS CHOOSE TO NOT HANG IN THERE, BUT CHOOSE TO EXPAND AND GROW INTO OUR VERY BEST SELF.

Love, yours Nina

Don’t kill your enthusiasm

Pic by Bérénice Knöß from My Yoga Guide

I’m starting this blog post with a bold statement:

If you kill your enthusiasm, you kill your joy for life.

I have improved my senses a lot over the last couple of years and along with that my observation skills and mindfulness improved, too. Now, I have noticed more than once that people seem to have lost their enthusiasm. When I am aware and looking at other people, no matter where I am, it just seems like people do lack expression verbally and non-verbally. Maybe it is just a snapshot of a moment, but maybe it is the direction our society has developed to.

And so I was asking myself what people are usually most enthusiastic about.

It is what we call happiness.

Happiness arises when we see opportunities to fulfil our basic needs such as connection and body contact on the one hand, and growth, autonomy and freedom on the other hand. Basically this mean we are happy, when we have the opportunity to grow, in a community or by ourselves.

So then I was wondering, how it’s possible that we lose our enthusiasm? Do we kill our enthusiasm ourselves?

Honestly, how often do you experience a wave of enthusiasm coming over you?

Once a week, once a month? Where did our longing to explore go? Where did our longing to create go? Where did our childish enthusiasm go that made us curious, creative and enthusiastic?

I believe that as we grow older and as we make our experiences, we get stuck in routines and our brain gets rusty. We know our family and friends, we know how things work, we do our job, we have our hobbies, we basically do what needs to be done. But this way life palls. It loses its attractiveness. Life loses its life.

And this is strongly related to the meaning you give to things, to the world you live in. And whilst it’s good to overthink the meaning you give to negative and energy draining situations, it is worth re-giving meaning to the little and beautiful things in your life.

Re-give meaning to the little & beautiful things in your life.

If you don’t make a true effort in spicing up your life, everything will have the same meaning, the same importance. You have arranged and controlled your life so well that its enthusiasm was drained till death. You managed to control your life. You managed to function.

Now it’s time to alter course!

Just imagine you are still a child. Life is not about safety, protection and maintenance, right? Life is about developing skills, about exploring and learning new things, so that we can grow.

It is about expressing yourself, differentiating between the things you love and don’t like, it is about smiling into the world, it is about consciously experiencing things instead of living on automatic mode. It is about breathing new life into your life.

Don’t kill your enthusiasm! Revive your life! For true happiness.

Yours, Nina

Momentum

When you are about to embark on a new journey, significant effort is required to get going. You need a high level of energy to get started, but once you are going, you need way less effort and energy to keep up the level of speed. However, to get to a point of ease, you need to build momentum first.

Once you’ve built momentum for your new business or project, you can gracefully continue your journey and quickly get traction toward success.

Just imagine a swing. You start moving your legs back and forth to get some movement. And then after a while, you are enjoying the swing with your legs hardly moving, you are just swinging.

Side note:

I love swings.

Are you ready to build momentum? Are you really ready to live your dream life? Are you prepared to rapidly expand into yourself? Are you ready for increased activity and change in your life?

I ask you these questions, as I know from my own experience, how much we often want to succeed at businesses, projects or whatever it may be, but we simply cannot succeed if we are not ready. And very often we aren’t ready yet. Hence, we cannot build momentum. We, our mind, our heart, our spirit, is not ready yet for full success.

In order to be truly successful, we must widen our awareness for success. We have to understand that success and momentum can arise from many different directions. It’s multi-dimensional. Success depends on expansion, growth and deeper insights as well as trusting the process. It’s not a straight line, it’s  a dynamic process that evolves over time.

Success is a dynamic process.

Oh my! Trust me, this really works. When you open your spirit, mind and heart to all ways of success, all the universe conspires to make your intention a reality.

Remove any stagnations and blocks that are still holding you back. Soften your heart to trust the process. Stand in your power. Create momentum in your life. And then enjoy the journey!

Yours, Nina

Happiness

Happiness, what a big, yet unspecific word, isn’t it?

What does happiness mean? What does it mean for you? That’s what I wondered when I was out for a walk. On a sunny, warm and absolutely beautiful day. I just came back and here I am writing this blog post.

There’s however way more to happiness than a sunny day, at least this is what I think. Because we mustn’t make our happiness dependant on external factors. Instead we really should find happiness within us. External factors, such as a sunny day, can then even intensify our happiness, however a rainy day won’t have any impact on us, as we are happy from the inside out. The same applies to other peoples’ behaviours. When you are happy, no one will be able to get you out of this zone. Sure, it might make you sad or angry at times, nevertheless your inner state of happiness won’t change.

Find happiness within you.

I’ve almost always been what I would have called happy. What I experienced though in the last couple of years and really strongly since Dec ’17 is that there are different levels of happiness. Now, I’m not saying you should generally question your level of happiness, but I noticed for myself that my happiness increased dramatically over that period of time.

In order to write this article, I reflected more intensively and wondered why this is. And the one thing that kept coming back to me was I reconnected with myself.

Reconnect with yourself.

So, maybe your level of happiness is worth a second thought?

Now that I’ve reconnected with myself, I just feel so aligned, so full of energy, so authentic, so me, so Nina! It’s such a beautiful feeling, hard to describe, but it feels like flying, like being a breeze in the wind, light like a feather.

I want to dance and jump (hence the pic!). I smile and people are smiling back at me. I want to hug the entire world. That’s what happiness feels like to me.

For me, being connected with myself means living aligned with my true self. Living according to my values and by my own terms. Being authentic. Being myself.

Live aligned with your true self.

How do I know?

I’ve gone through the process of feeling disconnected with myself. From realising that I want a change in life, over questioning and reflecting the status quo of my life, to defining what I actually want from my life (personally and professionally). It’s still an ongoing process of reflection, trial & error and growth, but I managed to get back to me and to reconnect with myself.

I just know that you can do that, too.

Yes, it might be out of your comfort zone, it might be daunting and a bit of work, but if you’ve only had 1 second reading this, thinking, oh my…, then there’s something inside you that wants to be heard, looked at and changed to the positive. Trust me.

The connection with yourself, your true self and your beautiful soul will lead you on a journey to happiness. It is a journey that starts from inside, it is your inner journey.

Being on your inner journey and reconnecting with yourself will lead you the way to happiness.

Yours, Nina
